Before the FPL 2022/23 season starts I thought we would do a few podcasts with some of my favourite Fantasy Premier League content creators. In these FPL Summer Camp videos we will be talking about various topics, from the team of the season from the previous year, strategy ahead of next year, and everything in between.

  1. If they start moving players based on heat map, that means teams with high possession stats will have influence on a lot players. Take Cancelo, Chilwell, TAA & Firmino for example.

I think having players that are out of position, should be priced higher so that we maintain a simple positional sense.

What we also have to remember about FPL positions, is that Managers influence a lot how players play. Take for example Viera & Hogson for example.

  2. Part of the issue with player position is formation change too. Sometimes Chelsea play a back 4, if so James could not be classified as a midfielder. With wide players, a 4-3-3 vs 4-2-3-1 the wide player is going to playing a different role and again some teams move between these formations. Son literally plays most of his game centrally up top, so that’s much clearer for me. Good luck to the guys sorting it for the year ahead!

  3. I believe there should be no room for ambiguity or room for speculation on FPL player positions. The clubs are clear on player positions. The best is to allocate player position based on what his team and club define him as, that's simple enough. FPL can improve on the points scoring system for different categories of players especially in the midfield

  4. A couple interesting ideas to deal with the issues being talked about.

    1. You are unable to captain anyone over 40% ownership. This would force people to mix it up rather than the same old captain every week (Salah?). Would create some good differential in teams as it might not be worth owning someone so expensive if you can't captain them.

    2. This is a drastic one, once a player reaches a certain amount of ownership they are removed from the game for the season, granting a free transfer to replace them with. It would have to be a high level of ownership, but this would create some great variety in teams I think.

With both of these I think fpl would have to hide the ownership percentage. These are just off the top of my head as I watch this video, this is the first but of thought I've put into fpl since the season finished.

  5. I actually think the double points for captain should be done away with and maybe an extra 2 triple captain chips made instead, the double captain evry week makes the game come down more to luck than skill.
